Arakeane

Arakeane exploits the diversity of his religious, sexual, and spiritual background to bring a unique mix of talent to the pagan community. His Baptist, Methodist, Evangelical, Thalamic, and Mormon background from his early years intermingles with his vast experience in avant-garde spirituality tempered by his various Wiccan experiences and practices for the past 20 years. A Naval Officer, Engineer, Physicist, Computer Scientist, and Engineer by trade, Arakeane interleaves his professional training into his quest for spiritual awareness and comprehension. The thrice sworn soul-mate of the High Priestess Selene, Arakeane has been in the Pagan public forum since the late 80's. Most noted for his open work entwining diverse pagan practices with Wicca, Arakeane has been an embarrassment to fundamentalists from many Pagan traditions for well over a decade. A Distinguished Toastmaster, off Broadway New York actor, trained in NLP, holistic healing, and a diverse set of other spiritual disciplines, Arakeane's spontaneous entertaining presentation style typically delights his audience. Arakeane will spiritually immerse you in the subject matter.

Bennu Heka

I have been a teacher and instructor within the pagan community for over eight (8) years. I have instructed and given classes on personal energy working, spell construction and ritual construction. I have run a solitary pagan witchcraft class for over three (3) years starting from 101 to 201, finishing with 301. I have held classes on past life regression and psychic tarot reading. I have organized full moon rituals and have run them for over seven years in a local new age book store. I am a six (6) year member of Cedar Light Grove, ADF. I work with individuals on personal issues and provide a different perspective on their situations. I have organized and run a pagan discussion group for seven (7) years, where the topics of discussion ranged from anything pagan to mundane in nature. I have also participated in and run an ADF style ritual at the Mother Earth Day gathering put on by The Black Forest Clan in Pa.

Amy Lawrence

Fire Circle Coordinator

Known to many of us as firegoddess, Amy has been firetending and involved with fire circle rituals for several years and several organizations. Her focus is on healing the collective via the individual expansion of awareness, one heart and mind at a time. She will be tending our Hearth throughout the event and holding space for various fire circle activities.

Beth Lynch

Beth Lynch is a professional animal communicator, a nationally certified massage therapist, a certified doula, a Hospice bereavement volunteer, a founder and volunteer in Patuxent Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), and has a Master's degree from Georgia State University. With a pre-med undergraduate degree and additional training in Reiki and other forms of energy healing, she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge into her consultations and workshops. Beth blends her intuitive and healing skills in all her work, whether to provide optimum results from massage or enhanced physical understanding during communications. Her personal experiences with death and grief in conjunction with her Hospice training provide her with both a practical and empathetic understanding of grief and other emotional responses that is evident in her consultations and workshops. Beth teaches a variety of workshops on animal communication, intuitive development, massage and growth through the grief process.

Whittney Matlock

Event Coordinator

Whittney (with two 'T's) is a professional massage therapist based in Falls Church VA who enjoys working with a variety of therapies to heal his clients not just in body, but in mind and spirit as well. A long-time presenter at Black Rose and Free Spirit events, he has a vibrant approach to ecstatic ritual, trance, magick, healing and, well, living. You should not expect to sleep through one of his workshops, though you may leave feeling more relaxed and/or energized.

Mike has been priest of Gardnerian, Eclectic Wiccan and, more recently, Ecstatic covens. He helped found Circle of Dark Eros, has facilitated drum circles, designed and presented rituals for Free Spirit events. He currently works as a web development/support consultant in Washington DC and is learning Television and Audio production. Selene

Namaste. I'm Selene. I Became a High Priestess in 1980. I have been a Starwood Elder for the past 3 years. My husband Arakeane and I have taught at festivals since the mid 1990s. I am the mother of two rambunctious teenagers, and pagan mentor to several others. I hold a B.A. in Psychology, and an M.B.A. in Management Information Systems. I have been exploring weaving, macrame, knotwork, jewelry-making, gemlore and herbalism as long as I can remember. I have 20 years' experience enjoying the exploration of alternative lifestyles. Arakeane and I have been involved in several successful long-term polyamorous relationships.
