Healing-the-Spirit Rules and Policies
You are fully responsible for your own actions. If you choose to violate these policies, you may risk being ejected from the event without refund. Respect others’ personal space, privacy and possessions. In particular, ask permission before touching anyone else or their magickal tools – drums, staffs, athames, swords, bells, costumes, coffee pots, etc. If the owner refuses permission, accept that refusal politely and in good faith. HTS is clothing-optional. This means that you can wear as much, or as little, as you feel comfortable wearing. If it is warm enough, nudity becomes fairly common. A person’s state of dress or undress is neither an invitation to have sex with, harass, touch nor leer at her or him. If someone’s behavior makes you uncomfortable, please consider fist speaking directly to that person. If you have difficulty confronting the person for any reason, or cannot resolve the situation on your own, please bring your issue to the attention of a staff member, in a timely fashion. We will investigate and take appropriate action. If something distresses you, we can do nothing to help resolve the situation if you do not tell us. Similarly, if you wait until after HTS is over, we can do very little. Do not bring illegal substances to the event. Be responsible with the use of alcohol, avoid excess. Avoid smoking inside or near cabins, on porches, in buildings or in any area marked “Smoke Free Zone.” Be respectful of others where you choose to smoke. Please dispose of your butts properly. Throwing butts on the ground does not constitute proper disposal. Use grills or camp stoves outside and away from cabins, at least off the porches. Portable fireplaces/fire pits are encouraged outside and off the cabin porches. Do not dig your own fire pit. Avoid burning anything inside the cabins. This includes incense, candles, smoking or cooking. Cabins are equipped with smoke detectors that are designed to notify the local fire department directly. False alarms carry a substantial fine (in excess of $1000). If you cause a false alarm during the event, you will be responsible for paying the fine. Photography, videotaping and other forms of recording are allowed only with prior permission from all persons involved. Be aware of people in the background as well. Some people like having their pictures taken, some do not. Ask permission before taking a picture. If you do not get permission, do not take the picture. Refrain from photographing rituals or workshops without the consent of all of the participants present. HTS events are off-limits to media personnel acting in a professional capacity without HTS’s prior written consent. Please be discreet, respectful of and courteous to your fellow attendees. This applies double to your cabin mates, especially when participating in personal rituals. We expect that everyone will maintain a certain level of decorum in public spaces. In so many words, refrain from public sex. If anybody else can see you without making a significant effort, it’s public. If your activity includes significantly touching any one else’s naughty bits, it’s sex. Please do not play rules-lawyer with us on this. Additional RemindersHealth Reminder: Water is your friend. Drink plenty of water along with your other favorite beverages to avoid dehydration. Please respect the presenters and your fellow attendees by showing up on time to workshops, classes and rituals. If you can’t make it on time, please understand that you may not be able to join in when you arrive. This is especially true for circles and rituals. No event is created or made succesful without the help of those who work together to make it happen. If you do nothing else, please take the time to thank and support the vendors and volunteers and fellow participants who have supported Healing the Spirit. Healing Blessings.
