'Instigators' - Twice Monthly Pagan Chorus Group

One Spirit

One spirit in the dark,
Like a candle wavers.
Many spirits joined as one,
Burn with the power of the blazing sun.
 
  There is strength in community,
A circle empowering you and me.
The circle binds yet sets us free,
As we will, so mote it be.
 

The Instigators is a Pagan Chorus Group that meets in the DC metro area the 1st Sunday and 3rd Tuesday of every month to workshop chants, learn vocal techniques and practice the magick of vocal music.

You don't have to be a pro to join, but if you've ever been at a ritual or fire circle and thought "wouldn't some singing or chanting be wonderful right now" then we might be the group for you. Some of our goals are:

• to get the pagan community over the societally-instilled fear of using our voices,
  
• to share enough chants with each other that we never have to say "I can't think of a good chant that goes here" or "what are the words to that?"
• to learn how to support our voices so we can chant all night and be just as strong a musical force as any group of drummers,
• to experiment with voice as pure sound and even improvise our own music,
• to connect to Spirit by singing our hearts out and having a good time!

We also seek to "Instigate" and encourage other pagans who wish to do the same, hence the name.

When/Where?

Instigators meets on the 1st Sunday and 3rd Tuesday of every month, 7:00-10:00 pm, to work and play together at 929 W. Broad St., #202, Falls Church, VA 22046. Instigators is also meeting Saturday Nov 11th, Sunday November 26th and Sunday December 10th. We're not big on "Pagan Standard Time" so please expect to start on time.

If you are interested in becoming a part of this adventure, please contact Whittney or ask to join the DCInstigators Yahoo Group. If you know someone else that's interested in becoming an Instigator of song, please feel free to spread the word or to bring them along. The more, the merrier-met - just let us know to expect you.
